Our Services

Complete deck building services across Central NY

From custom design to composite, PVC and wood decks, we build outdoor spaces engineered to survive Central New York winters.

Custom Deck Design & Build

Single-level, multi-level and wraparound decks designed around your home, your yard and how you actually want to use the space.

Composite & PVC Decks

Low-maintenance composite and PVC decking (Trex, TimberTech and similar) that shrugs off CNY moisture, fading and rot — no annual sealing.

Wood Decks

Classic pressure-treated and cedar decks for a natural look, built with corrosion-resistant fasteners and proper drainage to last in our climate.

Deck Repair & Restoration

Sagging framing, loose railings, rotted boards or a failing ledger — we fix what's unsafe and restore what's worth keeping.

Railings & Stairs

Code-compliant railings and stairs in composite, wood, aluminum or cable, built for safety and the look you want.

Outdoor Living Features

Pergolas, built-in seating, privacy walls and low-voltage deck lighting to turn a deck into a space you actually live in.

Built For Our Climate

A deck here has to survive more than summer

Anyone can lay decking boards. Whether a deck is still solid and level in ten years comes down to three things our climate punishes — and all three are underneath what you see.

Frost Heave

Central New York's frost line runs deep — typically around 48 inches. Footings that don't reach below it get pushed up by freezing ground every winter, and the deck racks, tilts and pulls away from the house. We set footings below the frost line so the structure stays put, season after season.

Snow Load

A CNY deck carries months of snow weight on top of its own. Joist size, spacing and beam support have to be built for that load, not just for people standing on it in July. We frame for winter, not just summer.

Water at the House

The ledger board — where the deck attaches to your home — is the number-one point of both deck collapse and water getting into your wall. It has to be lag-bolted correctly and flashed so water sheds away from the house. This is water management, which is our trade.

We’re an exterior contractor, not just a deck company. The place a deck most often leaks into your home is the same kind of connection we flash on every roof and wall. That’s why we build the ledger, the footings and the framing to last — the parts you can’t see are the parts that decide whether your deck makes it to twenty years.

The Structure We Build

A deck is only as good as what's underneath

A great deck is the best room in the house for a few months a year — and in Central New York, it has to survive the other nine. Most decks that fail early don’t fail at the boards you see; they fail at the footings, the framing and the connection to the house.

We start below the frost line, frame for the snow load, and flash the ledger the way we’d flash any connection to a house — then the decking and railing go on top of a structure that’s built to stay level and dry. Do that right, and the surface is the easy part.

MaterialBest ForCNY Notes
Pressure-Treated WoodBudget, natural lookLowest cost; needs regular sealing to survive freeze-thaw and moisture
CedarNatural beauty, warmthHandsome and stable; still needs upkeep to hold up outdoors here
CompositeLow maintenance, longevityResists rot, fading and moisture — a strong fit for CNY; long warranties
PVCMaximum moisture resistanceFully synthetic; the lightest maintenance and best in wet exposure
Warranty Protection

Decking Backed by a Manufacturer & Workmanship Warranty

A deck is backed on two fronts: the manufacturer’s warranty on the decking material — composite and PVC lines often carry 25-year or longer coverage against fade, stain and rot — and our workmanship warranty on the build.

Since most deck failures trace back to the structure, not the boards, the workmanship side is the one that protects your investment. We stand behind ours.

FAQ

Deck Questions, Answered

Both work here. Wood costs less up front and gives a natural look, but needs regular sealing to survive our freeze-thaw and moisture. Composite and PVC cost more up front but resist rot, fading and moisture with almost no maintenance — which is why a lot of CNY homeowners choose them. We’ll walk you through the trade-offs for your budget.

Central New York’s frost line runs deep, typically around 48 inches. We set footings below it so freezing ground can’t push the structure up. That’s the single biggest reason a deck stays level and doesn’t pull away from the house over the years.

Yes. We build to local code and take care of the permitting so your deck passes inspection — important for safety and for resale down the road.

Most residential decks take several days to a couple of weeks, depending on size, height, material and design features. We’ll give you a realistic timeline with your estimate.

Often, yes. If the structure and footings are still sound, we can replace boards, re-secure railings and restore the deck. If the framing, footings or ledger are failing, replacement is usually the safer call — we’ll give you a straight answer after we look.

Yes — railings, stairs, multi-level layouts, pergolas, built-in seating, privacy walls and low-voltage lighting. We build the whole outdoor space, not just the deck surface.

We build through most of the year in Central NY. Spring and summer book up fast, so planning a project in the off-season often means a better spot in the schedule and a deck that’s ready the moment the weather turns.
